One.

For years I have obsessed over photography.  I think it was the first time I ever developed a disposable camera that got me hooked.  The "element of surprise", I'll call it.  The idea that among a bunch of blurry faces at a softball game and overexposed days at the beach could lie one perfect photograph.  The photograph that would forever sit on a mantle reminding you of how much money you spent on crappy disposable cameras in your lifetime.  Enter the digital world.

My progression from the original Kodak Easyshare 3.2 mp digital (which could also be used as a self-defense weapon based on weight and size) to my Nikon D3100 has not been an easy one.  Countless point-and-shoot cameras have lost the good battle to highschool dances, Dave Matthews concerts, and turning 21.  Most recently, a cheap Fuji dropped on a dance floor at a bar and stepped on by a rather large person.

I do not consider myself a "photographer" by any means, I simply appreciate the art.  My amazing family recently bought me a Nikon D3100 to begin my journey in photography.  I am learning as I go and felt compelled to share my experience with other beginners.  Enjoy!
